First things first - get the Delgados new record "The Great Eastern". No more needs to be said on that issue. Upgraded to Redhat 6.2 (Zoot) over the weekend - all went pretty smoothly. Latest project is the Lionel StreetServer which is only interesting if you work for Bristol Social Services - its a searchable online street directory. Dull or what? The election campaign continues...my knees are aching from last nights leafleting!
Got first assignment mark of the year - 80! No one more shocked than I am. Celebrated by putting the workdumps for K259 and K260 online. Otherwise, life is pretty manic mid-election campaign. Awaiting delivery of RedHat 6.2 disks from the Linux Emporium, I can see how the weekend's going to go.... Thanks to Iain for pointing out the broken Cinerama link on the music page...its gone.
Awoke to find my nomination to stand for Weston Town Council accepted, and the campaign on in earnest. Consequently, spent tonight at a branch meeting rather than seeing Godspeed You Black Emperor in Bristol. Both assignments out of the way now, but a vast pile of leaflets to deliver. Also put my CV online, because I want a new job.
Celebrated getting the assignment sorted and ready to post by putting some of last years work online. Due to my procrastination another deadline approaches fast - back to it I suppose.
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
