Hayfever has kicked in with a vengeance after a few not-so-bad days. At the risk of looking like a slave to GNU/RMS I've de-Amazonized this site entirely following their dodgy legal dealings. Trying out Sawmill as my window manager. Seems fast and pretty reliable so far. New Will Self book arrived today.
The bank account business rumbles on. Destroyed all GIFs on this page today. Find out why here.
My upgrade frenzy continues. Built Kernel 2.2.16 this morning and fixed one or two Perl 5.6.0/module complaints. Attempted to deal with some rogue transactions on my bank account - frustrating process. Finally got a haircut.
The Community Care essay has finally been laid to rest. Spent the afternoon at an informative training course on the Independent Living Fund. Celebrated weekend of relative freedom by upgrading to Perl 5.6.0 by compiling from source (hardcore!), and reinstalling a bunch of modules. Ended up bleary eyed and sleepy in the pub at last orders.
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
