My Stinkymeat shirt arrived from Copyleft. Seems that controversy still rages about the Perl is Finished story, with a strange thread on comp.lang.perl.misc. Belle & Sebastian's first appearance on Top of the Pops is a bizarre affair, but reminds me why I liked them in the first place.
A quiet spell seems to have descended. One essay is done and gone, Another is due in a week. The pressure is still on! BT Surftime now appears not to apply to decent ISPs.
Spent most of this weekend catching up on study. Motivation is a bit harder knowing I won't be continuing next year. An essay deadline looms. Also caught up on quite a bit of mail, and spent an evening at my parents home in Burnham.
The now rather ancient Perl Story on segfault has exploded! Its on both www.perl.com and Perl News. Have had some "Why do you hate Perl?" mail, which regular readers will know isn't warranted. Oh well, the price of fame!
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
