First essay mark of the year. Pretty good too. Faith and confidence restored. Should probably try to get some reading done then. Have been lazy but distracted by world events. Things seem to be underway, but not entirely running smoothly. Worried for people close (by association).
Weird week. Back at work, and pretty productive since elements which prevent people getting along, doing their jobs etc. are absent. We are still desperately behind. As of tommorrow, everyone I know is somewhere else. Strange. Glued to last ditch diplomacy this week - at home and abroad.
Straight from work to Bath by train. Feeling melancholy, which makes me desperately bad company all night. Manage to make a reasonably happy occasion quite bleak. Sorry.
Arrived back late last evening by expensive airport taxi. Pretty impressed with flights considering how cheap they were. A strange few days. Forgot how much I missed Glasgow when I leave. Painful foot makes two out of three days a little annoying, but still managed to wander quite a bit and drink too much. Arrived early on Tuesday and was in my favourite coffee spot by 9:15. Revisited old haunts eastwards, before heading back to Charing Cross to check in. Later, off to the 13th Note for music and beer. Wednesday saw an early start heading west. Lots more wandering, coffee and musing. Bus journey back interrupted by anti-war protest and angry FirstGroup employees! Disappointing curry at the oddly named "New Colonial India". More beer. Thursday was odd. Some wandering beyond my usual range. A bit confused and bothered by weird feelings about the place. Watched sunset and office workers in George Square before heading for Paisley and the airport. Lots of pointless photographs here.
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
