Landmark day! Finally got RedHat Linux 6.1 stable enough to give up on Windows 98 forever. Got drunk enough to format my Windows drive, and sent confusing e-mails to all and sundry. Thanks to Steve Jones, my system is now known as <<LIONEL>>.
Things really just keep getting more insane here. Still, I think I have resolved to just disappear from view for a bit. Lie low, and spend the study-free months ahead trying to work out what on earth is happening!
Didn't sleep a bloody wink. Ended up roaming Weston-super-Mare at 05:00. Definately not going to make work tomorrow...Beulah record is amazing - first time I've just upped and bought a CD at a show.
After an amazing few weeks (Mogwai, Arab Strap...), the world collapses around me again....devastated of course, but sort of getting used to this! Guided by Voices and Beulah at the Fleece & Firkin with the Funky Uncle. Fantastic stuff - almost forgot what was happening around me just hours ago.
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
