Another highly strange weekend over. Going back to work seems very weird indeed. Life with Evolution is OK so far - some random crashes, but pretty usable. Ploughing through Wrox Press's "Beginning Linux Programming" which (so far at least) is making sense.
Busy day really. Finally got Evolution working! Its a really promising mail client, and all the other bolted on bits are going to be useful. Still has its bugs and quirks however. Rebuilt 2.2.16 which puts me back where I was before the two crashes, with a far more stable system however. Got lots of studying done today. Job interview tomorrow.
Received case of Tennent's from lastorders.com as promised! Spent much of the afternoon running up and down stairs with large cases of the American's possessions! Much too hot for this really. Relaxed later at the Bombay Spice.
Back from weekend in Glasgow. Had a fantastic time, spent way too much money and ate and drank loads more than advisable. Stumbled into the opening day sale at the new Fopp Records which was an expensive mistake. Otherwise, visited The 13th Note a lot. Highlight must be the insights and brief tour of Govan shipyards by a taxi driver who was once a 'corker'. Found lastorders.com an online off-license!
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
