Hugely hungover, despite staying in with good intentions. Bit of odd-jobbing helps get me feeling better, and I even venture out later! Otherwise, latest Evolution seems quite broken. Finally got around to dividing up the news page again. Neko Case and Beachwood Sparks CDs arrive at last.
Really need to divide this page again, but it might have to wait for 24hrs or so! Paid the telephone bill, which hurt a bit. Busy, interesting day - took a bus ride to buy thinking time. Always works. Got a request for support from a user of Gtkdial in a US Govt. dept. in Denver. Very pleased to hear that at least one other person uses it! Hope I can fix his troubles!
Not the best sleep last night, and an early-ish start.. My building holiday is over, and I'm currently trying to get new bonobo, gnome-vfs, gal and evolution's built! Load averages are spiralling, naturally. Busy but successful morning, and more time to brush up my maths and investigate possible educational opportunities
A day off trying to build anything. Spent a lot of time poring over TAOCP, and making some progress. Considering that I'm not a skilled mathematician, this is encouraging if slow progress for me. Conceptually at least, the fog is clearing. Nice dinner. Tomorrow is shaping up to be a really busy day all in all.
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
