A much reduced IP Knightley team is thwarted by the lack of a quiz master and a wedding party. Gtkdial receives its first patch from a user. Branched Evolution is working fine just now, except for all my filters which appear to be just dumping everything into the inbox.
First trip to Bristol in a very long time. Not nearly as bad as I feared it might be. Trying to build latest CVS versions of gnome-vfs without much success so far. Evolution has branched for 0.9. Instinct says I should go with this branch rather than staying bleeding edge, but how long will that last? Einstein seems to haunt the house this week, with 'time' and 'space' being buzzwords.
Well, this moon clock applet is not being the safe predictor of high weirdness that I hoped it would be, but seems more likely to be the source of more 'interesting' facts, the repetition of which will alienate me from my audience! Rebuilt Evolution again, which solved a bit of weirdness I'd had where fetching mail crashed the mail component. Happily the first 'fetch' after building the latest anoncvs delivered a bunch of mail I feared lost in the earlier crash.
Get up earlier than intended and do everything I'd planned to by noon! So, currently attempting to avoid boredom by updating all the bits of this site which I've let slip... Played with some of the scripts in Gimp 1.2.1 which was interesting. Evolution now working fine, and sending mail happily (needed to relink gnome-spell after upgrading to oaf 0.6.2).
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
