Testing the concept of 'hardware healing' today. I'm typing this in front of a BIG monitor, which (now I'm used to it) is 100% easier. The CD Writer has arrived at the office too, which necessitates a trip over to get it. In the midst of an essay on "sudden bereavement" which is just not working out right now. Got the Delgados single, but typically my CD player is in for repair! It may be one of those weeks...
Got a ton of stuff done today. Helped some friends with train times due to the "Fuel Crisis". Firestarter 0.5.0 is in pre-release, and supports IP masquerading (something I barely even cared about last time around!), as well as Kernel 2.4 style IPTABLES. Couldn't get Delgados single in Weston - is this a sign? New IBM TV advertisment actually mention UNIX!
Study goes OK so far. Serious house tidying, and some work on a new E&S Services (formerly TSP Services) project underway. Ready to start in earnest on the webserver project too. A bit of Gtkdial tweaking between cleaning and studying, but no serious progress. Delgados single (including a kid's choir!) out tomorrow.
Weird vibes around - very strange happenings on all fronts. A week off now to desperately prepare coursework. Funeral was very strange, and very poorly attended which was kind of upsetting.
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
