A quiet weekend - some tentative work on gwvedit, but not a lot else productivity-wise. Visited what will soon br my parents new home today, then lounged around drinking beer a bit before trying my hand at cooking on a barbecue (I think I did OK). Speculated a bit about my DSS visit tomorrow. Cheered myself up by watching the inimitable Roy Mallard totally confusing an actor in "People Like Us".
My TV - apparently about to expire - made it through the night. Managed to doze off somewhere between Labour winning and William Hague resigning. Lots of quite interesting stuff in the Election results keeps me happy with web and teletext all morning. Built gdm from source due to fatally broken Ximian packages. Much fun reading vicious' code.
Early physiotherapy appointment hurts quite a bit. Off to vote and do shopping. Thoughtful afternoon leaves me feeling reasonably OK about *most* things (if a little confused about others). Managed to cook OK today, which was encouraging, and played catch-up with things I want to start hacking on. Prepared for an all-night Election Special since sleeping is so bloody random anyway. Aware this page has crossed yet another temporal boundary, but to lazy to attempt to split it up yet.
A bit of a recap of the past couple of days - not that much has happened. Sort of dropped off the net following monitor failure and other hardware problems on Sunday. Coped poorly with the ensuing boredom. Fracture Clinic on Monday morning - late, frustrating, but progress is reasonably good. Concerned now about start date for new job. Today, finally got practically everything going again, got DVD working on laptop, had a busy lunch hour and even found time to lounge around in the sunshine chatting and doing crosswords! A better day really.
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
