Physiotherapy first thing goes surprisingly well - I've got back most of the mobility in my shoulder, and now its two weeks of strengthening exercises to regain independent movement. Feel much cheered by this. Otherwise a reasonably quiet but non-frustrating day. There is soon to be a Bucknalls release on Luigi's new Almost Halloween Time record label - its going to be a sort of 'best of', along with some all-new stuff. Started working on sleeve notes and trying to devise a title. Made a reservation for next years Open University course - T223 Microprocessor Controlled Computers - which is practically the final nail for my Health & Social Care Degree. Worst hayfever day of the summer so far - I actually thought I'd get away with it this year!
Another welcome chance to borrow modern bathroom facilities - which is just about the highlight of today. A strange and frustrating day really, especially after all the 'sorting' that's been going on all week. Vaguely apprehensive about Physiotherapy tomorrow, as I feel like I'm not making much progress.
Boredom is seemingly my worst enemy nowadays. A flurry of sorting done over the past few days - benefits applied for, insurance claim made, laptop returned to retailer to avoid repossession, and replacement for broken monitor delivered/installed. Being half way fixed is substantially more frustrating than being totally unable to use my arm - I can actually try and fail where previously I didn't dare try! Sleeping considerably better makes life more fun for certain. Took the plunge and divided up this daylog page once again, since we were practically half way through June already. Reading back over recent entries, the recurring theme of my inability to influence my circumstances troubled me. How can I break this cycle? A very close Brit Quiz result sees us a creditable second. Got my contacts back in Evolution after days of db3 weirdness.
Strange times - spend a reasonably frustrating time getting the correct claim forms from the DSS, then received essential and welcome help in filling them in. Arm seems to be moving around a little easier and hurting much less, but it remains very awkward. Things to sort out include insurance on things I owe. Found a comfortable way to lie down, so went to bed early to take advantage of it!
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
