At last the GNOME book is on its way from BOL! Just in time to coincide with a Royal Mail strike though. Otherwise life here is very quiet. Still no sign of Sawfish 0.34 RPMs from Helix yet. For the sake of my sanity, I think I'll wait. The I.P.Knightley (Under 21 section) fare a little better in the Brit Quiz - 2nd, despite only 50% team availability.

Set out to see And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead at the Fleece, only to find it completely sold out. Wandered across town to Fiddlers and Saw Mary Lorson (of Saint Low/Madder Rose) and Kurt Wagner (of Lambchop). Amazing stuff, and well worth missing Trail of Dead for! Way too tired to mess around with the new Sawfish tonight.

Still recovering from a late night. Playing with Gnutella a bit - leaves me feeling sad and inadequate behind my 56k connection! Helped Steve evangelize about Napster later on. A bit of a peer-to-peer theme today!

The fact that I'm finding myself playing Nethack must mean that > has achieved some kind of stability. Updated the Russell House site with news of its sale. Spent a very strange morning listening to old Traumatone tapes.

I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.

I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
