The Farewell Party at Russell House last night. Very sad event, but conducted in typical style. Foot feeling a lot better now. The recent "ILOVEYOU" virus scare is ensuring the incorrect use of the term 'hacker' once again - why can't people read The Jargon File? Feeling much better after a great thunderstorm and a good sleep (despite a bizarre dream involving Ken Livingstone and Britney Spears!).
The aftermath...I know bitterness isn't pretty, so I'll try not to be (bitter or pretty? You decide...). The LibDems reaped the rewards of an excellent campaign in Central Ward. My assessment of my own party's performance would likely verge on slanderous - so to spare Demon Internet another embarassing and expensive court case, I'll shut up! Off to do some "hermitting"...
Polling Day. Slept in a bit by accident. Out to vote early. Polling Stations quiet, but not unexpectedly so. Early call to distribute a leaflet publicising yesterday's Weston & Worle News story on LibDem dirty tricks and lies. Spent much of the day single-handedly working Central ward with this. All feels very odd now as I await the close of polls. Needless to say, the foot hurts!
The LibDem onslaught continues. Knocked a lot of doors. Suspect a stress fracture in my left foot again. Polling day tomorrow. I'll post the results here of course. Current prediction seems to be that nothing short of a miracle will get me elected!
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
