Updating frenzy - new bonobo, gal and now Evolution so far. If all goes well, might investigate some of the stranger new stuff out there like libxslt and libxml2 (now that I'm assured that 1.8.x and 2.x can live happily together).

Much contact with the "soon to be not-Welsman" massive today, reminding me that I'm not always actually clear what day of the week it is anymore! Latest bonobo builds nicely overnight, and Evolution is working a treat today - including the filters which were playing up a couple of days back. A busy afternoon includes a bus ride and a rare walk on the seafront. Spent the evening making crazy phonecalls, which actually work out OK. A chance meeting with the Quiz Master assures everyone that the Brit Quiz will return! The T171 tutor group's first exercise is underway.

Incorporated patch to fix Gtkdial, and released 0.2.24 stable and 0.3.3 devel packages. Had some pretty positive feedback since posting the latest announcement at gnome.org, but acutely aware of the fact that the program is written in C baby-talk. Please be assured readers, that my latest projects are much less convoluted, and Gtkdial is under severe redevelopment. Managed to get sound working pretty well on good old > - significantly better than it ever worked when I owned the box, and all by virtue of a pair of three quid speakers!

A much reduced IP Knightley team is thwarted by the lack of a quiz master and a wedding party. Gtkdial receives its first patch from a user. Branched Evolution is working fine just now, except for all my filters which appear to be just dumping everything into the inbox.

I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.

I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
