The I.P.Knightley's fell to third in the Brit Quiz - despite a remarkable first round performance completed in two minutes due to late arrival. Otherwise, nailbiting and handwringing are the order of the day. Latest Evolution is shaky - the expunge and closing bugs remain, along with mysterious disappearing toolbar icons!
Busy day. Took Pix to the vet early, and found it extremely difficult to leave her there. Much cheered by the Vet's staff being so pleased to see her safe and well after her excursion however. Couldn't really settle to anything else all day, apart from some minor (and hardly fruitful) hacking on gwvedit. Second interview seems to go OK, and if nothing else is very relaxing and not too stressful. The outcome however, remains to be seen..... Latest build of Evolution collapses when emptying trash, and every time it's closed! Hmm....
News of a second job interview tomorrow throws me into a bit of a spin, but is nonetheless exciting and encouraging. Having to be cruel to the cat, as its 'nil by mouth' until after her operation tomorrow - she is not happy with me just now. A bit of impromptu spreadsheet work later, followed by a reasonably quiet evening.
Got up really late after another long sleep. Urgent cat food run. Otherwise, spent a great deal of time with NSS3.2 and getting Gnumeric compiled, and made Principia packages. Didn't really accomplish much else, despite hours at the keyboard. Then again, I haven't actually been awake for long!
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
