Had my first ever online job interview yesterday evening. A very odd experience really, but still vaguely preferable to some of the dreadful indignities I've suffered at the hands of personnel staff in the past! Sadly, I didn't get the job. Napster is refusing to play ball today.

Comes to us all I suppose - make myself look vaguely idiotic on #gnome by enthusiastically offering documentation on libical to one of its major Perl developers! Walked a lot today - it was a good day for walking here. Nowhere in Weston can sell me the Neko Case & Her Boyfriends CD. Good job in some ways - no money. Latest CVS Evolution builds fine, but I'm experiencing random HTML mail crashes - time to look again at gtkhtml?

Recovering from a very late night. Rudely awoken by delivery of Helix Code shirts and suchlike, arriving on the very day that Helix becomes Ximian. Much happier today, despite tiredness. CVS Evolution is building quietly in the background, and its surely time to sleep?

Not a productive week so far. In fact feeling a bit down and pointless early today at least. Managed to cure my own dental pain once again yesterday and accidentally read all of "Accidental Empires" by Robert X Cringely - its a set book for T171 but still managed to be pretty interesting. Makes me wonder why I'm not just a tiny bit more prosperous, but I suppose those damn principles may have a little to do with it. The I.P.Knightley's struggle slightly despite being at full strength.

I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.

I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
