Evolution day! Spent much of the day messing with Preview 7 (aka 0.6, confusingly!). Much improved, and completely usable for my meagre needs. Someone remind me not to update bonobo for a while!
Much work done on the Gnortal, which now works pretty reliably thanks to the HTML::Parser module! Also working hard on a new release of Gtkdial. Apart from that did some more updating (new gnome-core and gnome-libs), pending the imminent release of a new Evolution preview. Spent ages on irc.gimp.org yesterday, but still keep checking at bt.com because I mistrust Surftime.
Spoke too soon. Finally flipped my lid about work crap. Need to consult professionals before I dare go back. Pix has cat flu, but remains in good spirits. A bit of a wasted day. Reading "The Scottish Nation 1700-2000", which may just have influenced my drunken silliness yesterday.
Hmm...birthday week is over without major incident (which beats last year!). Spent today updating lots of libraries in order to compile Bonobo 0.23, in preparation for a new version of Evolution. Much general updating done too (including a troublesome new Apache RPM. Abusing Demon's new Surftime numbers a great deal today. Work remains a giant pain in the rear at present, with little apparent respite likely. Enjoying post-exam freedom a great deal. About to consider working on Gtkdial a bit more. Placed an order for a scanner and some memory at last.
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
