Woke up early to bid farewell to Hallski. Bruxelles in the rain was still sort of attractive so did some vague sightseeing before heading rather too early to the station. Long but pleasant journey home, with a long and less pleasant interval waiting at Waterloo for the train to Bristol. Managed some fractured phonecalls on the way home. Realised I'm pretty much penniless until the end of February. Chewed a chunk of mail on my late return, and again cursed lack of a laptop during the trip. Sort of glad to be back, but dreading work somewhat. FOSDEM was fun - it was good to meet some old friends, and to make new acquaintances too. Convinced I won't be at GUADEC for a number of reasons, which is sort of sad.
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
