For the past two days, Telewest have left the Town Hall with at best a patchy phone service. Inbound was via the switch only, and out was randomly busy, unobtainable or just plain slow to go anywhere. This coincided with schools reopening after six weeks of holiday. Possibly the most frustrating two days of the entire year to date.
Otherwise, just plain busy. Intermittently working on Gaia where time permits - and that's not as much as I'd like. Trying to stay on top of administrivia here, and keep positive.
On a more interesting note, the search for William Kent continues. An enquiry at the library of the Society of Antiquaries turns up no papers, but they have a copy of his certificate of fellowship. A lead of sorts...
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
