Back to work - finding it somewhat tricky at present, but pleased to learn that I'm not alone. I'm seeing so many differences in my current and previous careers - I'm just not used to believing that problems are not instantly my own fault! Its a local birthday, so I had to tear myself away from the incredibly tense last 30 or so overs of the Second Test, but it was good to get out in the first sunshine for some days. Late and very funny evening. Ended up at the 'Bengal Raj' - a much recommended restaurant which I've never quite managed to get to. Really excellent food, brilliant service. Rivals even Clifton's wonderful 'Bombay Spice' and Glasgow's 'Star of India'. Stumbled home very late indeed - a mistake perhaps, considering recent insomnia. Think we confused fellow diners with a rather odd conversation about quantum theory and Martin Amis. Well, I was confused anyway.
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
