A night of disturbed sleep (possibly due to rather bleak reading matter?) didn't set me up fantastically for the return to work. Sort of blundered through the day, making reasonably accurate notes on a meeting I'd foolishly agreed to minute in a fit of charitable feeling last week. Couldn't settle, so zipped off to get coffee and finally purchase the New Pornographers record which I'd endlessly namechecked on IRC after hearing a couple of MP3s. Predictably good stuff. Spent much of the rest of the evening searching for an elusive mailing list and getting Lemmingchat 0.0.4 out - the only update being that all the channel information files are locally stored, meaning a quicker connection. An ominous cloud of concern and foreboding looms. Revived the Dublin photographs from the old box, which I have vague ideas about doing something useful with now.
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
