Woke late, feeling groggy after a little too much wine. Was never going to be too productive today I suppose. Set about updating GNOME2, and building some of the apps I don't usually run, just to see how stable things were. Banged head against scrollkeeper
and docbook-dtd412-xml
packages for a bit. Finally got things nicely sorted and set about getting things to look nice - via a visit to Hadess' site for the CleanIce Gtk+ theme among other things. Generally very happy with things now. Paid a short visit to Sterling Books, but couldn't find much of interest in my price range. Agonised over an Anglo-Saxon grammar in an online auction, and finally decided that I can't afford it right now. Its been a strange old week.
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
