Vowed to continue with my productivity at work, and broadly its happening. Still feel like I'm probably a pretty annoying colleague at times. GNOME 2.0 arrives - and despite the moans and groans about missing features (or 1.x parity stuff in some cases) the reaction has been reasonably positive. Its funny thinking how eagerly I'd await releases in the past, and how this time I practically had the thing running anyway. Managed to shift more old books on eBay, and the laptop is gone for good now. Sucked into more interesting book purchases in the process of course, including Gissing's letters to H.G.Wells. A trip to Bristol. Amazing sunsets these past few days, and a startling full moon has completed the skyscape. Plans for amusing entertainment on Friday.

I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.

I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
