A day off - which would have been part of the Birmingham Expo, or indeed a trip to Cambridge, but instead is a mad dash through Bristol. Caught up with ex-colleagues briefly, visited the archives at the Central Library, tried once again to find somewhere which could sell me Pernice Brothers tickets, no luck. Picked up the Kingsbury Manx CD - not had a moment to listen to it yet - still transfixed by the American Analog Set release which arrived on Monday. Reasonably impressed by the 'Open Source Community' response to world events - the debate has been measured and thought-provoking on the whole. Personally feel that ESR could have left his personal gripes about US gun law out of things for a while at least - there will no doubt be plenty of time for dissection of events later. This evening was pretty funny - a fondue party - really sorted out the hunter-gatherer types, with some people working efficiently enough to consume twice as much food as others! Metadiscussion again follows. I feel OK though - I really do!
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
