Finished 'Hawksmoor' by Peter Ackroyd. Strange book, rather disturbing in places. Appealed to my topographical interests however, and highly recommended. Spent this morning lost in lots of websites about Glasgow's lots railways and so forth. Wished I was in London or Glasgow if only to go wandering. Later, decided to wander here instead - pleasant walk up through the cemetary (where I'd never been) and through older and more affluent residential areas of town. Down Montpelier with the usual fantastic views across town to the sea, and a quick explore of Christ Church. I don't wander nearly as much as I used to.
Otherwise, rather surprised to discover I very vaguely know someone involved in the recent happenings in the street. It is indeed, a very small world.
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
