Woke to driving rain. Wandered to Swansea station, getting very wet. Asked by newspaper vendor "Is it raining?" - declined detailed answer in case it was impolite, and simply pointed to dripping head instead. Fast and on-time journey back through a very damp and overcast South Wales. Got drenched again...

Later start than I'd planned, due to good sleep. Excellent breakfast and some very old sci-fi from my youth on TV. Fine weather, so out to the beach, and thence via bus to Oystermouth, Ice-cream at the near-legendary Joe's. Walked to Bracelet Bay and clambered precariously over some rocks. Saw...

Only managed two out of three letters published in local paper, and one of them had my favourite bit edited out! Off to Swansea to visit Telsa and Alan. Smooth journey, including a ride on one of Virgin's new Class 220s, which was quick and quiet. Later, headed out for...
