Finally, after a couple of frustrating days, Ximian GNOME is functioning perfectly on both machines here. Its not just eye-candy though, and the Mozilla and Nautilus packages are pretty speedy! St.George's Day - and, I am reliably informed - Shakespeare's birthday. A very strange day of trepidation, negativity but suddenly revealed positives. Set out for work for first time since November in bright sunshine. Trains messed up - no surprises. A very odd, quite difficult day. Laptop continues to disappoint....
