I should really be writing an essay, but concentration is lacking somewhat tonight. Decided to update this daylog a bit instead. Did a good turn and hand delivered a letter to a desperate parent. Managed to break left shoe in the process. Shopped online for shoes when I got back, which will horrify my colleagues who still don't believe I did it last time! Committed --auto-close stuff for the Zenity progress dialog. Discovered #commits in the process, which might be fun to lurk in.
Wrote a browser. Perhaps the smallest, least feature-complete and useless browser in the world. Egged on by regulars on #lemmings on IRC. Four buttons and a gtkmozembed widget - pretty quick. Made it use wget to download files it can't display. Not 100% happy with this - perhaps gnome-vfs would be a better idea?
I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
I don't get out and about nearly as much these days, but I do try to record significant events and trips for posterity. You may also have arrived here by following the trail to my former music blog Songs Heard On Fast Trains. That content is preserved here too.
