Gtkdial is a GNOME frontend to the wvdial intelligent dialer (by Worldvisions). It is particularly suitable for the user who connects to more than one ISP regularly, or who needs to login to multiple accounts.
Gtkdial works by parsing the users existing /etc/wvdial.conf file for configured ISP accounts, and presenting a window with a list and some simple buttons to control the connection. An optional connection clock shows the length of time spent online (important for users without unmetered access), and can be saved between sessions for a cumulative log of online time.
Gtkdial remains under active development, alongside a utility to edit the wvdial.conf file via a GUI, known as gwvedit.
