Pay day. Trip to Bristol, and to some rather good pubs which I'd not visited before. Excellent company, and lots of fun. Found myself reading Keats aloud in an unlikely tavern. Later, extremely teenage behaviour in Bristol's bus stops. I don't understand it - why was I 65 when I was 15, and 15 when I'm 30? Confused, but very happy. Arrived home late. Ended up visiting lots of APT websites, since a new UK rail speed record was set. Also, noted Bristol academic (and Gissing List member) in TV exposure! Very happy and confused today!

I've had a home on the web for more years than I care to remember, and a few kind souls persuade me it's worth persisting with keeping it updated. This current incarnation of the site is centred around the blog posts which began back in 1999 as 'the daylog' and continued through my travels and tribulations during the following years.
